About Dr. Baker

One of the world's prominent plastic surgeons, Dr. Baker has been a leader in the field for decades. A talented surgeon with an artistic eye, Dr. Baker is committed to excellence in every procedure he performs. An internationally renowned surgeon, professor, writer, and inventor, Dr. Baker's level of experience and expertise is unparalleled.

A dedicated and talented plastic surgeon, Dr. Baker has won numerous awards, including the Distinguished Service Award from the Plastic Surgery Educational Foundation (1989); the Distinguished Service Award from the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (1990); the Special Achievement Award from the American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons (1999); and the Distinguished Fellow Award from the American Association of Plastic Surgeons (2000).

In addition to his work as a surgeon, Dr. Baker is also an active professor. He is currently Voluntary Professor of Plastic Surgery at the University of Miami School of Medicine, Clinical Professor of Plastic Surgery at the University of Texas Medical Branch, and Educational Foundation Professor for the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPAS). Before moving to Miami, Dr. Baker was Chairman of the Department of Plastic Surgery at the University of Missouri School of Medicine.

Because of his award-winning work as a surgeon, his exceptional knowledge, and his commitment to the field of plastic surgery, Dr. Baker is very active in teaching other physicians. He lectures both nationally and internationally at some of the world's most prestigious plastic surgery programs. The esteemed Baker Gordon Symposium on Cosmetic Surgery is an annual conference cosponsored by Dr. Baker and attended by 500 plastic surgeons from around the world.

Dr. Baker was also instrumental in the development of the Baker-Gordon formula for chemical peels, which is used by physicians worldwide.

Dr. Baker received his M.D. from Indiana University before going on to complete two residencies in surgery at Jackson Memorial Hospital and a third residency in plastic surgery at the University of Texas. Dr. Baker is board certified by both the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
